Have You Ever Eaten a Tomato Fresh off the Vine?

Imagine the sweet, juicy flavor of a tomato that is still warm from the day's sunshine. My owners have spent years developing a productive vegetable garden. If you are that special family whom I am looking for to buy this home in the Chester Springs PA area, you will enjoy fresh vegetables this year!

My owners wanted a vegetable garden so they planted one. The first year they discovered that the soil was mostly clay so they had truckloads of fresh mushroom soil brought in to enrich it. ( This has been done every year.) My owners wanted to have an organic garden, and this has been successful, but with many challenges each year!

The first year they started all of the seeds indoors and lovingly planted them in the garden the beginning of May. The next morning they discovered that the groundhogs and rabbits ate each plant all the way down to the base while they were sleeping. So, it was determined that a fence needed to be built around the garden to keep the critters out.

Then they started using a trap to catch and release them. Each morning they would relocate the animals to a new home far away from the garden. (this always involved a car ride with those animals) Over time, that was no longer a problem.

Some seasons a particular plant was not successful for one reason or another, but they never used any type of chemical fertilizer or pesticide. To overcome the problem of weeds and keep moisture in the soil, a special mat is used all around the plants.

This year they planted heirloom tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant and basil. Some of the peppers are already to pick! So if you think that you might like to enjoy this vegetable garden this year and for years to come, take a look at me by visiting my realtor's site by clicking here

Young, But Rich with History of Upper Uwchlan

Although I am a young adult home for sale, I have features unlike any other of my age. My owners have a passion for history, and added some features making my property unique and historical.

Chester County PA was once filled with small farms and local businesses. Most of the area is abundant with beautiful fieldstone that was once used to define the property lines in Upper Uwchlan Township where I am located. My owners have watched the area change in the years since I was built. They wanted to preserve some of the history without changing anything in my structure.

They started out by hand selecting large fieldstone. Many of them were already on the property. This was time consuming and took several years. They they started building stone walls around the property with them- just like the early settlers did! Frequently people would stop and ask who made the wall and if they could get one too. Unfortunately, this was a labor of love, and my owners only did it here for me.

Before the days of Wawa and other local grocery stores, there was only one place to shop in Eagle- the Simpson's General Store. You could find anything there from milk to drill bits, and at one time even pick up your mail! This was a time when everyone in the township knew each other and would often stop and chat around the pot belly stove that heated the store in the winter.

When the current Village of Eagle was being created, the Simpson store was one of the first to be torn down. (there is a Blockbuster video in that location now.) My owners were fascinated with all of the old stone and brick that they intended to just remove and discard. Once given permission to take some, it was a race to get as much as they could before the demolition crew took it all away!

Even though I have a large deck with a hot tub, along with a lower deck outside the finished basement, my owners thought that a brick patio made with these "old bricks" would give the property more of a historical look. So they created it under the maple tree and then used stone to enclose it for privacy. You will find nothing else like it in the area! If you look closely at some of the bricks you can see early markings and even dates!

Soon after this my owners started collecting perennials that were native to this region, focusing on constant color from spring to fall. This allows them to have fresh cut flowers inside without having to go any farther than the back yard to get them!

They found themselves spending more and more time outdoors as the children became more independent and went off to college. Then another feature was created- a beautiful pond with a waterfall! This is right next to the patio, so you can sit on the bench or the swing while you are waiting for your food to cook on the BBQ grill. It looks like a spring coming right out of the rocks falling down into the pond that is filled with water lilies, fish, and even some frogs! It's peaceful and relaxing year round. Last year the water lilies continued to bloom into December!

My owners have chosen one of the top Real Estate professionals in the area to sell me. But I wanted a chance to share my story in only a way that a home could share. Could YOU Be the Family I am Looking For?

Are you a young family looking for a home in a good neighborhood with a great school district? Would you like to buy a house in Chester Springs PA area? Are you becoming overwhelmed by looking at all of the homes on the internet and multiple showings? Why not see if you are what I am looking for?

I am a 4 bedroom Colonial home
in Chester Springs PA with a 21 year history with my owners and their family. Once we were filled with activity and busy children, but now we are much quieter. I am on almost an acre of property with wonderful neighbors, but so much more makes me unique.

My owners fenced in the entire back yard to make it safe for me when their children and now grandchildren came to play. Because they loved plants and animals we have many beautiful perennial gardens, and even a vegetable garden! They love birds, so the environment was created so that they would also come and make their home here!

There is a beautiful lily pond complete with a waterfall with a swing and bench where you can sit and enjoy it in sun or shade, whichever you prefer. The birds love it- they are always stopping by for a bath or a drink in the pond! We have a brick patio made completely with historical bricks from our local town! That is where our BBQ grill and table and chairs are situated so that you can eat outside if you wish. The maple tree has really grown so it provides shade almost all day on the patio.

There are bird feeders and multiple bird houses on the property. This year we even have a family of bluebirds occupying one of them along with cardinals, goldfinches, and many other colorful birds who will come along with the home if you continue to feed them!

I have lots of different outdoor "rooms" for you to enjoy. Maybe you would like to relax and unwind in the hot tub on the deck, or enjoy a cup of coffee on another outdoor private deck with indoor/outdoor carpet and hybrid daylilies, roses, trumpet vine and Rose of Sharon bushes providing color all different times of the season!

Right across the street is a park that once was where my owner's children spent much of their time playing soccer, baseball or tennis. Now their is even a football field with lights, sand volleyball, and numerous hiking and biking trails! About a mile down the road is also Marsh Creek State Park where you can enjoy swimming, boating and picnics.

When it is time to come indoors, my owners spend most of their time now either in the completely updated kitchen complete with granite countertops or in their Master Bedroom Suite just relaxing. They do run a business from here, so you will often find them working too. They FIOS internet is almost constantly in use!

The finished basement was once a rec room complete with pool table and ping pong table. When the kids were teenagers they spent most of their time there. Because it has a private entrance, their friends could stop by without coming to the front door if mom and dad were still working. There are actually two additional rooms in this finished basement. One has been used as a fifth bedroom at times and the other has been an office or storage area. This place is pretty quiet these days.

My owners love this home, and it shows. The children are grown now and have all moved far away- one of them in Australia! They want to be close to them so this home is becoming too large and too far away from family now.
This is my first post. I will continue to share some of the activities here as we wait for the perfect family to discover us. Perhaps it can bring the same joy to them as I did to my owners.
